MANSION IN MAY 2020 PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR GAGNON CARDIOVASCULAR INSTITUTE AT MORRISTOWN MEDICAL CENTER

MORRISTOWN, NJ, August 16, 2019 – The Women’s Association for Morristown Medical Center is pleased to announce that proceeds from its 19th Mansion in May 2020 Designer Showhouse and Gardens to be held at Tyvan Hill in New Vernon will support the expansion of the Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute.

Gagnon was established three decades ago after performing the first open heart surgery at Morristown Medical Center and, today, is a nationally ranked program serving thousands of patients each year. This unprecedented growth, which has elevated patient care, has also created pressing challenges. Increasing patient volume has outpaced the capacity to meet demand. Technology is ever-changing, and space constraints have Gagnon bursting at its seams. The solution is an ambitious facilities expansion to meet current and future growth and two new inpatient floors will be added to the heart hospital.

“We are grateful to the Women’s Association for their support of our campaign to expand our Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute,” said Trish O’Keefe, PhD, RN, President, Morristown Medical Center. “This support will not only address Gagnon’s expansion needs, but will also help position it for the future – a destination of choice for superior cardiac care on a regional, national and international level.”

Mansion in May 2020 at Tyvan Hill in New Vernon, New Jersey will be open May 1 to May 31, 2020. For more about Mansion in May 2020, visit www.mansioninmay.org.
