DONALD C. MCGRAW FOUNDATION A MAJOR SPONSOR FOR MANSION IN MAY 2020

March 9, 2020 - The Women's Association for Morristown Medical Center is pleased to announce that the Donald C. McGraw Foundation is a Diamond Sponsor for the 19th Mansion in May Designer Showhouse and Gardens at Tyvan Hill in New Vernon, New Jersey. Proceeds from Mansion in May 2020 will support the expansion of the Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute at Morristown Medical Center. The late Donald Cushing McGraw Jr.—a grandson of James H. McGraw who founded the McGraw-Hill publishing company—and his family resided at Tyvan Hill from 1958 to 1972. During his career, Donald McGraw Jr. held many positions at McGraw-Hill, the last being group president in charge of the company’s Standard and Poor’s subsidiary and its international publications. After leaving the company, he started Nautical Quarterly and purchased Soundings Publications. The McGraw family has deep and fond connections to Tyvan Hill and the New Vernon area, as well as to Morristown Medical Center. The late Mrs. McGraw, the former Anne Schuyler Williams, was a member of the Women’s Association and served on the Decorating Committee for the Diamond Jubilee Ball celebrating the hospital’s 75th anniversary in 1967. And, Josh, one of the family’s four sons, who is now president of the McGraw Foundation, volunteered at the hospital, serving for several years as a junior and then an associate corpsman. “We are thrilled that the Donald C. McGraw Foundation has chosen to become a Diamond Sponsor for our 19th signature fundraiser, Mansion in May 2020, said Katie Nolle, President, Women’s Association for Morristown Medical Center. “We welcome their generous sponsorship and are so grateful for their support of our cause to help expand the Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute at Morristown Medical Center. " “We were delighted when we heard that our former family home was chosen for Mansion in May 2020,” said Donald C. (“Josh”) McGraw III, son of the late Anne and Donald C. McGraw Jr. “Tyvan Hill holds many warm memories for me and my brothers. More importantly, our past history with, and connections to, Morristown Medical Center make our commitment as a Diamond Sponsor to benefit the expansion of its Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute much more meaningful.” Mansion in May 2020 at Tyvan Hill in New Vernon, New Jersey will be open May 1 to May 31, 2020.
